The skin and hair are important body parts with the skin being the first line of defense for the body.  It helps to protect you from bacteria, viruses, among other chemical substances that we are in touch with on a daily basis.

These two body parts are affected by many factors which include hormonal changes, imbalances, and conditions like aging or even a person’s lifestyle, for example, high-stress levels, lack of exercise, and eating an unbalanced diet. Apart from other ways of preventing wrinkles, here are vegan foods to eat for healthy skin and hair.

Foods rich in omega 3 fatty acids

Take foods rich in omega 3 fatty acids such as walnuts. These will help the body retain moisture and make your hair have a shiny and healthy look. Also, walnuts are rich in protein, which helps boost hair follicles making your hair fuller and stronger.

Omega 3 fatty acids ensure that the cell membranes stay elastic and function well. They are also great natural moisturizers that help your skin to stay moist by reducing dryness. This leaves your skin feeling and looking smoother and plumper.

Most of these acids can reduce inflammation levels in the body and decrease the chances of developing skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, and acne. They also protect your skin against sun damage.
