It’s Wednesday: dead in the middle of the week. I thought this was quite representative of how we can feel our progress is going sometimes. There are times where the weight of the workload seems overwhelming: like it will never come to an end. In fitness as in life, projects and goals and weights and pounds come #onepoundatatime – sure you can plan ahead and set goals to get there, but nothing will be accomplished without first accomplishing what comes before it…and nothing will be accomplished through shortcuts. Sun’s down, gun-town, baby! Who’s ready for some pre-bed #cardio !!! Sooo amped to bring down this blood sugar and calm the good ole insulin surge before sleepy time. That’s right…why do I do the crazy things I do? It just so happens that insulin has an indirect correlation with #growthhormone levels. Insulin goes down and GH goes up: which is exactly what you want in the first hour or two of sleep. Elevated #ghlevels create deeper REM sleep patterns, tighter skin, elevated abilities to burn stored fat, and muscle re-generation at increased speeds in comparison to low GH levels. Sporting the barbecue chicken #southwesternsalad (with barbecue sauce on the side of course) and #balsamicvinaigrette dressing in the face of #shefitness seared ahi tuna.
